Visit Queens: Your Travel Guide

Things to Do in Queens

Louis Armstrong House
For a real slice of iconic America, don’t miss a trip to the Louis Armstrong House. The king of jazz’s home has been perfectly preserved, so you can see first hand how he and his wife Lucille lived in their cosy house in Queens. The passionate guides will take you on a tour of history, love and music, where you’ll feel transported to Louis’s wonderful world.
Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Spend a day at this park, and you’ll see the whole world. Flushing Meadows Corona Park is famous for the Unisphere, a gargantuan steel globe built in 1964 for the World’s Fair. Aside from this impressive structure, you can visit its science hall, zoo, boating lake and skate park – or just enjoy an afternoon BBQ on the grass. Sports fans will love seeing the stadiums or playing catch, while fisherman can head to Meadow Lake.
New York Hall of Science
The New York Hall of Science takes a hands-on approach to a whole new level. This fun-filled science museum lets visitors experiment with light, sound, nature and technology through interactive exhibits. It’s a place where the whole family can play and learn together. Just a tip: there’s free entry on Friday afternoons.
Flushing Meadows
Originally created for the site of the 1939 World’s Fair, it’s the current venue for the US Open, the Mets baseball team, museums, parks and wildlife centers.

Very Good
like the convenience without having to pay the Manhattan pricing. Astoria, Broadway areas have some lovely eateries, cafes n bakeries which you can chilled to escape the pricey n crowded Manhattan eateries. Other than numerous 24 hour supermarkets, not many places for shopping.

Queens is clearly an area undergoing redevelopment. The Motel 6 is situated within a short walking distance of the a Subway station enabling easy access to Manhatten and all the sites. With so much to see in NYC this accommodation is perfect for a base and somewhere to sleep.

Just.passing through between flights there is really nothing but highway and dirty streets near Kennedy. No place to eat and I wouldn't walk there if there were places.

The area is fine felt safe. However the cost of transportation to get to the attractions by taxi is pricey and adds up. Try and figure out the subway it will save you money.

A stone's throw from the heart of NYC, the city of the blazing lights, the living maze that never sleeps, a place that everyone, given the opportunity, shoud visit.

Booking.com asked travelers...

Why do you recommend Queens for food?

The restaurant next to the hotel, their food was really good and the traditional architecture was great. It was and amazing experience.

Talking about the Natural History Museum in NYC; one of the world's great museums, especially with the planetarium attached

The subway was only two blocks away. We only slept in Queens. We spent most of our time in Manhattan.

Helpful when I found myself lost.
