”We loved our little casita “Salmor”. It had everything we needed including a completely private little walled garden, outdoor table, very functional kitchenette, comfortable beds, thoughtfully provided dressing gowns, etc etc. After 6 weeks of travelling it was really nice to be able to make ourselves “at home”.
There was good wifi available in the reception/shared kitchen area but not in the casitas, and we appreciated being able to switch off the www and just enjoy our quiet time.
Sabina and her staff were all very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed a hatha yoga class in the upstairs yoga room which was good and a massage with Sabine which was AWESOME and much needed.
El Sitio was very clean and comfortable with great attention to small, creative details.

”What a wonderful little gem! This lodging is situated in a very quiet neighborhood half way up a caldera in the very sleepy town of Tigaday! The apartment was very large and the kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make meals. A super-mercado was nearby. We especially liked the rooftop terrace with its view of the mountain, the ocean and a little stone chapel far up on the mountain. On the terrace were varied plant and rock arrangements that were pleasing to the eye. Different seating arrangements made it comfortable to find a sheltered spot to enjoy the sun and refreshments even in the wind!
Even though we could not speak Spanish nor could the Senora at check-in speak English, we were able to communicate since she had a Spanish to English app on her phone. Therefore, check-in went smoothly.
Since the island is so small, day trips to see the sights, especially coves and coastline, are easily and quickly accessible.
We are already planning to return to El Hierro and will again book at Apartamentos Los Verodes.”

”The host was waiting when we arrived. She showed us our apartment and we were pleased with the size and facilities. We were already prepared for no kettle but didn’t take long to boil water in a pan. There was a system where you indicated with an arrow on a sign outside if you wanted the apartment cleaning which was daily if required apart from Sunday’s. Great location for exploring, some very nice restaurants, prices reasonable. The supermarkets were also well stocked and reasonable. I had some questions and the host had a computer in her shop which was below the apartments. I typed my questions onto google translate then she answered, very good.”

The apartment is actually a building of its own, made out of lava stone on the outside and is well equipped and modern on the inside. We found everything we needed for our stay. The building is higher up on the slope above the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria parish church which is definitely worth a visit. From the apartment's large patio you can see the illuminated bell tower, separate from the church, prominently perched on a cinder cone hill above the plain of El Golfo and against the backdrop of the endless sea stretching west. We literally spent hours on that patio!”

Note: the owner does not speak english - this is the only minor drawback, but it feels unfair to put this into dislikes as he was extremely helpful and kind and it did not cause any trouble for us.

”We were met by the hostess and her young son who spoke excellent English.
We stayed 5 nights at this property which was very spacious, clean and very well equipped. They provided us with beach towels as we were tempted to use the natural pools during our stay, but unfortunately the weather was rather windy.
The casa is an excellent base for doing the challenging walks in the area and Tigaday has a very good supermarket close by, as well as lots of takeaways and restaurants.
We were provided with lots of lovely food and drink gifts. The family are really helpful and gave us extra items which we needed.
We were able to watch some premier league football matches from the previous week!
