But even without an upgrade, it would have been more than I could bargain for. The breakfast was also great, and there was a lot to choose from. I was hesitating to book it because it's not in the downtown area, but it took 10 minutes by taxi to get to the main square, like 10 euros which is quite cheap for a taxi in Europe. I will definitely stay there each time I go back to Bologna.”

Breakfast mainly consisted of a croissant, though it was delicious. Host was not as present as the other bed and breakfasts where we stayed, though she immediately got the toilet working when there was a problem and provided complimentary prosecco and treats since it was our honeymoon. Location was just outside the old city walls. It's about a 20 minute walk to the main square. We ate so much in Bologna that we appreciated these extra steps a day, but others might find it a bit far and it leads through the university area, which is not as clean and nice as other parts of town. Overall, it felt like a cross between a bed and breakfast, small hotel, and room in someone's house.”
