“The Residence is by far the best hotel to stay at in Hikkaduwa. We travelled around Sri Lanka for 2 and a half weeks, and never found accomodation that compared to this amazing hotel. The spacious rooms are modern, incredibly clean and comfortable. The location is superb, it is in a very quiet and tranquil position, only a 2 minute walk to the Main Street and beach. We originally booked for 1 night, but ended up extending our stay for 5 nights we loved it so much. The owner of the hotel, Chamara, delivered us the best hospitality and service you can come across. He was so attentive to all of our needs, ensuring our experience was the best it could be. Anything we were interested to see in Hikkaduwa, Chamara would happily show us around the town and drive us places to visit. Staying at the Residence will not only offer you a beautiful place to stay, but an enriching and rewarding experience. We are so thankful to Chamara and his family for being so incredibly kind to us. His lovely wife cooked us amazing Sri Lankan meals that beat any restaurants we visited. We will be recomending this hotel to anyone we know travelling to Hikkaduwa, and if we ever return, without a doubt we will be staying here again!”

“Staff was very friendly from the minute we arrived and very helpful. Starting with Assi the manager and Ranthi (spelling may be wrong on names) the woman with the huge smile all the time. So friendly!! Pool was clean and refreshing, right on the beach front, restaurant and bar area clean and inviting. Rooms were clean, hot water in a clean bathroom, Mosquito nets, towels in room, chairs in front of room for sitting outside, etc. After traveling a week we were tired and so happy with our choice. We booked for one night and stayed for two nights.”

He was very thoughtful and even helped me with a car trouble I had. His two assistants namely Rocky and Blacky made sure there wasn't a dull moment at the property. Property was very clean and well maintained and well designed. Gihan continuously offered us fresh fruit juices and was very flexible with the timings. It was very calm and a great place to relax. Wish we had more time to enjoy and relax. We're definitely coming back with more people. If you have a taste for villa type accommodation you must try this place. Worth every penny. Good Luck Team! Keep up the good work! PS: Google Map made it difficult and took us to the back side of the property (it was 9 acres). So I strongly suggest you to contact Gihan before you go there. He knows way around quite well and will guide you way better than Google Maps.”

“Great value for money over here. Staff is always on hand - the electric fuse had knocked off for our AC at 3am and they responded right away to switch it back on. The place is peaceful, clean, and very comfortable. All the necessary needs were met with A/C, wifi, and hot water. Highly recommend!”

“Had the apartment to myself for a few nights before my friend arrived from India. I liked the location, I could walk everywhere. Amazing services from the owner and her son. Her son helped me with a map to go find the pharmacy and fruit market. There are two much more expensive hotels very close by and they have nice pools that you can pay 350 rupees to use for the day (both within like 100m walking distance) so it's nice that you can use the pool in the morning and lay out and still go to the beach and later use the pool again. The owner was very nice, made tea & these tasty little sesame seed balls and we sat and talked. I also highly recommend visitors to walk down to try tasty burgers at Nordic Gourmet Burgers. They made the best vegetarian burger of my life...right in Hikkaduwa, better than I've tasted in New York City + Europe. Very peaceful villa. The garden is beautiful and you can grill on the rooftop with awesome views. Very cold aircon was much needed. *All photos I shot during my visit to Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka.”

“The place is located at the end of the busy part of the beach. So, the bars end pretty much where Mother's place is, which is perfect. You can enjoy the quiet part of the beach or walk a few minutes to get to the bars etc. With a tuk-tuk, it only takes a few minutes to get to the busier parts of town (supermarket, restaurant). The distance is also walkable. The rooms are really huge. There is no point in paying extra for sea view, because the palm trees in garden block the view. So, you may as well stay in any other room. The price per night is kind of high, but still much cheaper compared to what many other hotels charge. The whole town is expensive, because it is very touristy, compared to Tangalle, for example.”

“Staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful, which you get a lot of around Sri Lanka, but the staff here I found were the best!the location is a little up from the beach meaning it's quite and has a lovely chill out feeling, some days we walked to the main hikkaduwa "strip" or took a tuk tuk for max 200 rupees, where you can find everything but I'd advise walking home from the beach, it's an in readable walk home with the sunset and keeps you off the busy road from the crazy bus drivers. We had breakfast every morning and it was delicious, with proper local Sri Lankan tea. I really can't recommend this place enough, just such lovely staff and relaxed location, I found it a perfect ending for my two week stay.”

Sampath gave us mosquito spray to use in the apartment before we went to bed. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room with kitchen, however the bedroom has an extra AC. AC in the bedroom was the best thing to have especially after a long day at the beach. Sampath offered a few different day tours and recommended great restaurants to eat seafood and clubs/bars to go dance and drink at night time. During the whole stay he always made sure that we are doing well and we didn't need anything. Apartment is in a very good location. Hikkaduwa beach is just across the road, a big grocery store is 5-10 min walk, few minutes walk is an ATM and many bars and restaurants all around. Apartment itself is very spacious and very well maintained. Me and my friend had the most amazing 5 days there. On our way back they booked us a taxi to the Colombo airport for a very good price.”
