“The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us set up our activities and made sure we had transportation. They gave us great recommendations for dinners. We enjoyed happy hour and crepes in the evenings. We had a room up the hill with an ocean view that was stunning. When we booked there were no over water bungalows available. When we checked in we asked if they had any available and they said yes. We spent 2 nights with the ocean view and 2 nights in the best over water bungalow! They moved our bags for us and made the transistor very easy. Both locations were beautiful.”

Love that the bedroom is screened so no need for mosquito nets. The open kitchen and outdoor shower was an awesome experience (FYI other room options have indoor kitchens/showers). Excellent free wifi connection in our room.The pets on the property were friendly. Best of all they clean and make your beds daily. Full-service laundry (extra cost) was also a nice treat! Will always stay at Mark's Place when in Moorea and recommend Mark's for especially couples and families.”

No Mosquitos which was great and the sunsets were breathtaking. I snorkelled everyday in the Lagoon and went to church locally where the singing and music was amazing. So can't wait to go back. It is a cute, comfortable idyllic atmosphere to unwind. Can't wait to return.”

“The Hitimoana Villas are right on the water looking over a beautiful reef. The whole setting makes you feel like you really are on a beautiful Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. You could sit on the deck and dream away for a very long time. The restaurant is also good for lunch and dinner. I bought a baguette at the store along the road for breakfast. Steve and his parents are wonderful hosts in a relaxed way. Steve's Dad gave me a lift to the airport and we got to chit chat about all that goes on around Tahiti. I am a 55 year old father of four daughters returning from a trip to New Zealand and was looking for an inexpensive but decent spot. Usually I have my family with me so wanted to find a place that I could relax and spend lots of time on or near the water. Hitimoana Villas more than met my expectations. Steve was also able to set up a surf lesson which was also a lot of fun and got to see a lot of the coastline. Next time I will bring my family and definitely stay here again. Make sure you get a cab organized with Steve before arrival as it can be very expensive. Hi highly recommend this spot.”

It is run by the wonderful and very welcoming property owner, Eileen, who speaks French mostly, but does very well with English, too. We were there for one night as part of a trip to Bora Bora. Eileen and her staff served us one of the best breakfasts we have ever had, with fresh croissants, coffee, jams, juice, yogurt, cheese and more...all of the best quality. We had gotten there too late for dinner so we drove into town. I got some beautiful pictures of the property. Will try to add these later.”

The room had frig, stove, utensils, fan(no AC), mosquito net for sleeping, nice semi-open bathroom and shower; two covered deck sitting areas; shares lagoon with Sofitel and public beach; snorkeling and beach toys included; easy to walk to Sofitel for lunch and dinner; they changed some dollars to XPF even though for Sofitel clients only; watched fireworks on New Year's Eve. Tamara arranged taxis at best price and a great local restaurant. The ferry from Papeete docks a mile away.”

Robert took us to town the one day so we could go diving (best diving ever), and also took us fishing another day which was really nice, but their was very little else for us to do on the island. If you are looking to sit back and relax and read a book, this place is perfect but for the more adventure seekers this place might be a little too boring. We definitely made it fun and would definitely come back. They cooked us a great "local" style dinner every nice with lots of fish. Breakfast were much simpler but very good. Pancakes with some fruits and juices. If your looking for a relaxing private island, this is the place!”

“First of all Mairie, the host is absolutely amazing! She picked us up in Vaitape as we requested, took us to the supermarket to grab some groceries and once we got to the property she took the time to explain the island, the activities and gave us a phone with useful numbers to communicate. The apartment is located on the main island, super close to Vaitape which is the center of the island and one of the main points of pick up for your water excursions, close to car and bike rentals, post office, restaurants, supermarkets and also to Maitira Beach, a great public beach. The apartment is big, comfortable, super clean and well equipped. It is not the bungalow experience that segregates you 20 minutes from land but it was well worth it for us, a young couple looking to spend more days in Bora Bora and do lots of different excursions.”

“Booked for our Honeymoon. Had a little hesitation about staying at this property since it was off the mainland and a "Private Island". The description states that there is a $120/per person transport fee from the Airport which is no longer true. There is no charge. Also there is a very quick shuttle back and forth to the mainland hotel (which you can use their facilities as well). From the minute we got there we were greeted with a drink and Ukulele. We arrived early so our room wasn't available yet but were able to use the changing room and shower and head to the beach. As we were returning our key, we were notified that our room was ready. Ann walked us to our bungalow and showed us our accommodations. We rented the bungalow over the water and what heaven it was. They decorated the bed with local flora and a complimentary pearl. We stepped out to the deck and the view was absolutly breathtaking. I don't think we left our room for 2 days other than dining. I am not one to relax and took me about a day to feel completely relaxed. Very odd and inviting feeling. One night we did the "Sunset dinner" as we watched the sunset and entertained by Polynesian dancers. The following night we did the "Romantic Dinner" on the deck of our bungalow. Very awesome!!! A little pricey but hell, it was our Honeymoon.. The staff was awesome as well and very accommodating. Always greeted with a smile (even from the landscapers) even to go as far and call our next location to make sure our reservation was secure as we received an email that my cc was not valid (booked before the expiration date on my card expired). I threw my back out apparently from being so relaxed. The reception noticed my discomfort and reached into her own bag and applied a warming oil to my lower back with a quick message. It was upsetting to leave this little piece of heaven.”

The grounds of the home of the host, Patrick, and hostess, Nita are beautiful as Nita enjoys gardening. They both could not be nicer, kinder or more helpful. Nita booked a tour for us, arranged for a car and Patrick took us to pick up the car. They went so far as to decline their deserved comission and passed the savings on to us! The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessities. It is actually outside under cover for perfect atmosphere. The black sand beach immediately in front of the bungalow is beautiful, clean and enjoyable. Their adorable small dog, Mielo, may come visiting looking for a scratch. Allow plenty of time for taking pictures of the sunsets over Moorea. Fall asleep to the gentle sound of waves on the beach. Book early, this is a choice bungalow.”

It's a really authentic Polynesian-style house -- comfortable enough, but not sterile or commercial-feeling. Instead it is filled with quirks and charms. Easy walking distance from town, which is a tiny little berg where the locals greet you with a smile. It has a proper kitchen with hob and oven so we could cook and the nespresso machine was very nice to have as good coffee is hard to come by sometimes in French Polynesia! We had a view of the beach from the window which was lovely and access to the beach also. Estelle the owner was welcoming and friendly and was very helpful when our remote control for the front gate stopped working - she came over immediately to give us her own one. We liked it so much in Tahiti we stayed on an extra night. Given the humidity the air con was also brilliant to have. We'd definitely come back.”

We didn't have a car for a couple of days so we were very grateful being collected from the city, but when we hired a car it made life a lot easier as we didn't want to rely on Wendy for being picked up, as she is a busy lady. We did however walk alot before hiring the car, but we chose the location due to the closeness to the Football Fields where the NZ U17 Men were playing. The house was very comfortable with plenty of space and good cooking facilities. It was lovely dealing with the local people and learning a little about their culture. Very close walking distance to the nearest supermarket. We highly recommend Wendy Location.”
