It was just what we needed after a busy week—a peaceful and quiet retreat in the heart of nature. The calmness and tranquility were perfect, and the panoramic city views from the pool were simply breathtaking. The staff was incredibly attentive, making us feel right at home. Breakfast by the pool with those stunning views was a highlight. Castelinho itself is incredibly charming—I couldn't stop taking pictures of the beautiful colonial tiles on the floor. The rooms are modern, spacious, bright, and clean, and felt really cozy! Plus, the hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the main street in Santa Teresa, surrounded by lively bars and restaurants. I can't wait to come back again!

Highly recommended for solo travelers or couples. I initially booked for just one night but ended up staying three weeks in this charming castle. Located in the heart of the city, this historical gem is adorned with beautiful art, and you can enjoy a stunning view of Christ the Redeemer right from your room. The large garden and relaxing pool are perfect for unwinding, and the rooftop offers breathtaking sunsets. The rooms are impeccably clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every Sunday, there's a free BBQ, and the breakfast is simply amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options. The warm, social atmosphere made me feel right at home. Everything about Jean's hotel is exceptional - every detail was thought through meticulously and Rio144 is by far one of the best, most comfortable and prettiest places we've ever stayed in. The bedroom view to Pão de Açúcar is spectacular and something out of a movie. Some people might be put off by the location, but we didn't feel unsafe at any point during our stay and the positives definitely outweigh the small inconvenience of a 15 minute uber ride and the steep hills that need to be taken to get to the hotel. The highlights are too much to be mentioned in detail, but we were welcomed by monkeys surrounding the hotel trees and Jaqui, the chef, cooks a genuine traditional breakfast to die for.
