What impressed me the most was the eye for detail. For example: a nice case for the tv remote, a leather stool for your purse at dinner, giant curtains that open and close air tight with adjustable ropes that are super easy to manage… we got upgraded to one of the big rooms with a balcony right on the lake. The staff are beyond friendly and I love the old fashioned, palace-style decor.

When locals ask you where you’re staying and you mention Luganodante, they happily nod affirmatively, reassuring you made the best decision. And they’re right The hotel is right in the city center, everything is within walking distance (this includes the historical city center, the lake, the Cathedral, the funiculars of both Monte Bre and San Salvatore, train and bus station). The staff is probably the best I’ve ever seen, and I travel for business all the time. They’re genuinely kind people who will do everything to help make your stay the best it can be. the breakfast and the restaurant in general is 10 out of 10 Michelin guide recommended - the selection is just everything you can ever wish for. The room was clean, comfortable, regularly maintained. Pick Luganodante, you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful old hotel, well maintained, excellent location in the city center, quick bus from the train station, about two blocks from bus depot. Staff are great, very helpful. Room was small, very well appointed & bed was very comfortable, high ceilings make it feel spacious. Breakfast was good, decent selection. Would recommend, looking forward to staying again.

What a great place to stay! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. There were a few reviews about the steep climb to the hotel but it was absolutely easy and no big deal. Highly recommended!
