Convenient location, very short walk to the subway station (line 8). Comfy bed, good toiletries, very clean. The room had a perfect size. Kettle + tea, bottled water, and hair dryer are provided. The staff are incredibly helpful - they helped me with the reservation for Forbidden city and recommended things to do since I was visiting during bank holidays. Also, I needed an iron and they helped me out even though I was doing check out.

Staying at the Orchid Hotel has been the highlight of my trip to Beijing. The hotel is neatly tucked away in a very quiet part of the Hutong not far from the historic Drum Tower (can be seen from the hotel’s rooftop). Many landmarks, restaurants, bars, and shops are conveniently located nearby and can be explored by foot — my preferred option. In terms of the space, the hotel’s interior has been carefully designed to preserve the characteristics of the very historic neighborhood while adding a bit of modern aesthetics. Finally, I very much enjoyed interacting with the staff, who were very friendly and eager to share the real Beijing experience with the guests.

The hotel was exactly as described, the room was comfortable, it had an AC that worked great, and there was a TV we could use. The staff was incredibly nice, they tried their best to help us in any way they could. The hotel has a working washing-machine+dryer, but underwear can't be washed, so make sure you pack enough of them. The nearby supermarket has tide pods, that smell really good, and are packed 6 pcs in a bag. The hotel is pretty close to everything you could need. There is a bus stop and a metro station that's close, and is walking distance. A little bit further away (about a km) is a supermarket, which is located on the corner of Annei ave. A bit hard to spot, look out for the shopping carts. Drum tower+Bell tower, Shichahai, Lama temple all walking distance. The lakes are a good spot at night. The neighborhood has some stacked souvenir stores, for moderately cheap. A lot of food stalls, so you won't go hungry.
