With the free upgrade, I had a large room with two beautiful kang beds. The room was extremely clean. It was wonderful to have such an authentic experience, with traditional furniture and even a wooden door that locks with padlock and key. Both heating and aircon ensured my comfort, the water was hot and the guesthouse owner was very kind. It's also in a fantastic location.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Amazing location, right in the center of ancient town of Pingyao but still very quiet. The room is very beautiful, clean and there is all you need for a comfortable stay. Ji is amazing. I highly recommend a short or longer stay at the Ji Family Courtyard Inn.

I had a wonderful stay and a great travel experience thanks to the amazing owner. 1. They offered a pick-up service, which was very convenient since private cars are not allowed inside the old town. 2. We received plenty of restaurant coupons, maps, and travel tips. 3. There was no push to upsell services, but whenever we needed something, the owner provided a perfect solution at a very fair price. 4. The house is well-maintained, full of character, and has a rich historical charm. 5. After we checked out, we still had several hours before our train, and they kindly offered us a place to rest. I would definitely come back again if I have the chance!

Staff is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond despite the language barrier. Very nice room, full of any kind of amenity. The hotel itself is gorgeous with a beautiful courtyard.

The location is really nice, in the old city. The staff was amazing, very helpful and nice, made us feel at home. The room was clean and confortable. Breakfast was also good, american style.
