This is a really elegant hotel in an historic merchant's house, which has been beautifully converted without losing its character. I was given a warm welcome, even though I arrived earlier than expected and all the arrangements were explained very carefully. The hotel isn't staffed all the time but there are contact numbers available for out of hours support. Most of the rooms are on the first floor but help was provided with my luggage. There's a good supply of water, wine and other drinks which added to the experience.

Right in the center of Lübeck, Fisher's Loft Hotel is 1969 feet from the European Hanseatic Museum . Popular points of interest nearby include Buddenbrooks House Literary Museum and Lübeck Cathedral.

The historic nature of the house and the location make for a great authentic Lübeck experience. It's absolutely charming and stuffed with anything you might need. Books, DVDs, toys, kitchen equipment, household linens, writing supplies, televisions, everything. It's very vertical living but there is an additional toilet with sink in the main bedroom at the top which makes things very comfortable. I also loved full laundry facilities!! For a traveler a godsent. Note that the stairs are very steep and you need to be able-bodied to stay in this house. Everything was completely clean.

This hotel lies directly on a branch of the River Trave, opposite the Music and Congress Hall and a 5-minute walk from Lübeck's Old Town.
