Room mate chain is always a good choice, this is particularly true about Alba. nicely decorated and superb location makes it a sure thing. rooms are a bit smaller than usually offered in same level hotels, but internal space was not an issue, since I was alone and few belongings. couples and families needs to check beforehand or could get encumbered in a small room. Staff is very amicable and breakfast is simple but honest. This is a recommended stay and even considering the lack of a more spacious room its still a very good cost/benefit relation.

The location was perfect, all the most interesting and recommended places to visit in Madrid were just 20-25 minutes away on foot. The service was fantastic, the rooms and the hotel were super clean. What comes in handy for tourists and you don't find in other hotels was the scale at the reception to weigh your suitcases, which helps you leave calmly at the airport :). Would I recommend it? Ultimately yes, a hotel that is worth it in all the aspects mentioned above. If I were to visit Madrid again, Hostal Madrid is certainly the option I would choose without a doubt.

From location to accommodations and staff. It surpassed my expectations (for what it cost me, $34/night, remember prices fluctuate ). I was staying there the day of the blackout in Spain. They were the GOATS in the area. They had generators and even wifi. Extra points for the staff. They're the best.
