Offering free WiFi and city views, Au Cœur des Remparts is an accommodation located in Aigues-Mortes. The accommodation is 26 km from Montpellier. The apartment was perfect. We stayed for a week. There was plenty of space. The mirrored doors on the back wall conceal a large amount of storage, hanging space (with hangers), drawers and shelves. The second set of mirrored doors hides the miniature kitchen. It really is genius. It has a small hob, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, crockery, cutlery, fridge, sink and drainer etc. Genius. There is a washroom with a shower cubicle, sink and toilet. Nice and spacious. There is also a fold up table and chairs in the cupboard in case you want to sit and eat. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings very tasteful. Joachim provides lots of information and has a collection of leaflets on local things going on. He was very helpful and friendly and was very, very generous with his offers! He texted me on our first day to let us know there was a market on. We went and got some wonderful fruit, vegetables, meat and cheese which we kept in the fridge for lunches. The apartment is in the quiet part of town. Really quiet. We had the windows open all the time which I can’t do at home as the slightest bit of sound wakes me. I was also worried about it being too hot, but there is a ceiling fan which kept the place cool and we left on all the time. The town is so small that it only takes two minutes before you are in the bustle of the town. And you can head out of the nearest wall gate and be looking out over water in two minutes. A really beautiful place. And if you can go when the festival of Saint Louis is on, that makes it even more special.
