Everything! This house is exactly as advertised, a working house in a London suburb, and it met and exceeded every one of our expectations at a price that cannot be beat. We did not want to stay in London proper, with $300-500 per night being the average for impersonal hotels. Based on what some friends did, we looked about 25 kilometers outside the city. We got what we expected at less than $100 per night: a place to sleep and rest. Roberto and Anita have a super cute and super clean house in East Croydon. In order to visit London, one must take a tram or train into the city; some attractions also require riding the London Underground. Although a bit tricky at first, we were able to figure out all the moving parts in a day and found getting to and from London to be very easy. Crowded at rush hour, but easy. We actually had a lot of fun riding the tram, the train, and the tube. Americans, especially, should have no problem. The house itself was a excellent value as we had a spacious room with a double bed, wardrobes, and a nice desk.After 15 days of walking the Camino de Santiago we were grateful for nice pillows, clean sheets, and real towels. The bathroom was just stunning. Roberto also has two single rooms which are a bit small, but still nice. All of the rooms (3) are well appointed and very efficient; we had everything we needed. After all, this is an accommodation for spending the days in London and the nights in bed for a reasonable price, and it succeeds at every turn. In the morning, Roberto puts on a breakfast that can only be considered legendary. There were more choices than I have ever seen, from cakes and muffins, to croissants, to toast, and even cookies. We were delighted to find actual peanut butter, a must for most Americans! Roberto even made eggs to order. Roberto and Anita were quick to help with directions and even afternoon tea.
