what a magnificent hotel. every room is different. all have so much character. this old building feels a bit like hogwarts. I am sure some of the stairs moved, and some of the pictures talked. we spend hours roaming around the hotel looking for hidden gems like the reading room and even the gym (not really a gem but it was fun looking for it). breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get but the room and the buffet are beautiful. staff is amazing, funny, smart, nice and professional. I would definitely come back. hopefully soon.

Close enough to town but it was really quiet which made the stay relaxing

The location was great, the entry and stairway were a little grim but once inside the apartment, you were in another world. We didn't need them, but the space-creating lofts were so clever, as were the laundry drying lines. It was difficult to figure out how to heat the towel rack in the bathroom, so a hint there would have been helpful. The kitchen and all appointments were so clean and convenient. The hosts were also very accommodating in response to our last-minute request for an hour's extension on our departure time, which we appreciated. We had a great stay.

The place is amazing - also functions as a charity to help local people. Personnel at the reception was exceptionally nice and helpful. The place it self is magnificent, better than some 3 and 4* hotels I've been to. From the size and layout, really large self-catering kitchen and dining room, several common rooms, nice and spacious room with double ensuite bathroom (separate shower from toilet), very comfortable bed. Architecture - jaw dropping. Close to botanical garden, Riverside Museum and other amazing things to see
