The room was spacious, bed was comfy, the hot shower and AC worked just fine. The staff were very welcoming and warm. The common space and kitchen were nice and ready with free tea and coffee that you can get yourself 24 hours. The location is perfect and the quiet and green neighborhood is a plus. So easy to find places to eat nearby. Very close to Oro Oro Dowo market, too.

Staying here felt like visiting a friend’s home. The staff (Malika & Sasa) were super kind and always ready to help. We enjoyed chatting with other guests and even explored some cafes together. The hostel is located in a quiet area, yet close enough to restaurants and shops.

We spent 3 nights at Tugu Malang in January 2025 and found it to be the perfect base for visiting Mt Bromo and it was within walking distance to the Chinese temple and local flower markets. They served a complimentary afternoon tea each day with various local treats and a range of herbal teas which were delicious - most of the treats came from the neighbouring bakery that is also worth a visit. We liked the furnishings in our room and the toiletries were top notch. They provided fresh fruit in our room on a daily basis and we had fresh flowers which were a lovely touch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel contains a treasure trove of artworks and antiques and well worth an exploration. We loved our meals at the hotel restaurants, especially SaigonSan. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
