I always wanted to experience a stay in a Ryokan, this one highly recommend. We arrived early and the staff kindly let us storage our baggage and once we did the check in our stuff were already in our room. We took the western style room but still you can sense the traditional Japanese vibe. The room was spacious and bed was amazing. The whole place was magical, definitely enjoy some time to explore the lobby and the share spaces as there Japanese gardens and even torriis. They provide private hot tub rent and kimonos. Love my stay o wish i could stay longer. Book in advance.

The rooms were well-appointed, large and comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful. We stayed for four nights and the location could not be beat! It was walking distance to many of the attractions in Kyoto (it was our first trip here), and convenient to both the trains and buses to get to attractions further away. The lounge area near the front desk was a great spot to start the day with a coffee and enjoy the tranquil setting.

We booked Japanese tradition room which has one king size bed and a tatami that can fit another 3, we are a family of 4 so it's very comfortable. You can eat or enjoy tea time on the tatami! The room was also very clean and staff are very friendly! Free self laundry is another bonus! 2 subway stations nearby and walking distance to Nishiki market. Easy transportation to tour Kyoto and even Arashiyama.

Our room was at the 3F of the annex with a washing machine. Very spacious for our family of 4 (room is for 6 pax). Situated in a quiet neighborhood close to many attractions. Train station is around 0.5km away, may be difficult to walk (esp with luggages) if raining but if it isn't, it is ok.

I loved the location of this hostel. All the side streets nearby had a "real" Japan feel with small boutiques, restaurants, and places of the such. Out of the bigger commercial neighborhoods of Kyoto. The common areas in this hostel were PHENOMENAL! Nice downstairs area with a beautiful patio/garden outside, huge rooftop that was very nice, and the kitchen and dining room were out of this world. FULLY equipped kitchen to cook whatever your dreams desire and a huge dining room fitted for solo travelers or large groups. If you plan on cooking your own meals, this kitchen area is not to be missed! Comfy beds as well. Centrally located north of city center. You get a new towel for every night of your stay! Great free locker system to keep your bags secure if you need to store them for a few hours after checkout.
