Offering a free-use reservable hot-spring bath, shared indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, and traditional multi-course dinners with Shinshu beef, Shibu Hotel is 8 minutes from Yudanaka Train Station... Amazing stay in Shibu Hotel. We love everything about this hotel. I traveled with my family and other two family all together 12 people, we’re all felt very comfortable because the owner and the staffs were very nice, polite and very helpful about everything.
Located in the center of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. The staff was so accommodating. We chose the half board and it exceeded our expectations to say the least. We were provided with a private dining room and an unstoppable variety of fresh local cuisine. It was within walking distance of the snow monkeys, the nine Onsen baths were fabulous and the rooms were very large. I hope we have the opportunity to return one day.
Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, Koishiya offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. The staff was extremely fiendly and helpful. They make it very easy for guests to enjoy local onsens and they even drive you to nearby locations such as the monkey park.
Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodations that has a historic charm. Everything. Top notch staff attention. Dinner is very nice for 10000 yen per person. Breakfast is also very nice. Onsen is superb. Private onsen is amazing. (1500 yen 45 min) its a really nice place to disconnect from the outerworld.

Big and beautiful view from the room. Location was so great. And the dinner was delicious. Great place to stay. Don’t think twice. We will go there again.

The service and friendless of the host was just great. Room was clean and the onsen excellent. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and the Monkey Park. Loved it!

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. Everything was perfect - from the service to the public baths. I would highly recommend the food provided at the ryokan and taking advantage of the 9 onsen.
On just a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Station, Wafu no Yado Masuya features beautiful Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a private outdoor hot spring bath. Staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. Collection and drop off at the station was no problem. Dinner was excellent - flavours, variety and presentation. Also, it was served in individual dining rooms . For a reasonable fee, there was a lovely private onsen with an outside area too. Beautiful cotton kimono’s and jackets are all provided.
Surrounded by Japanese gardens with lush trees and various wild flowers, Fudouson-no-yu Kotobuki features spacious Japanese-Style guest rooms and indoor/outdoor natural hot spring baths. This was by far my best stay in Japan. The room was large and fantastic with so many amenities: a personal sink, tea set, TV, yukata, and a nice table and chairs by the window so you can watch the snow. Aki the innkeeper is fantastic, very kind and accommodating. She speaks great English and we had a great conversation during and after dinner. We drank together and talked about Studio Ghibli movies. She was kind enough to show me a landmark in town that inspired Spirited Away. The food served was fantastic! Far more food than I could ever eat, but I got to sample so much because of it. I had sukiyaki, sashimi, marinated octopus, broiled fish filet, miso soup, rice, and vegtables and more for dinner. For breakfast was an onsen egg, rice, grilled whole fish, a seaweed and veggie sampler, cabbage rolls, boiled veggies, and miso soup. Everything was so well presented and tasted great! The onsen was small, but pretty in the snow. I went in several time and it was so soothing I tingled all over afterward. I even met some people in the bath and we talked in simple English and Japanese for a while. The ryokan is right next to the Snow Monkey Park, so you can get to hiking right away. To top it all off Aki was kind enough to take me to the bus stop so I could head back to Nagano.
