Wayside is located in the Old City which has a charm and ease and many temples to explore. It is next door to a temple which has beautiful grounds to walk and sit in. Everything from great night markets to outstanding massage are within a short walk. A great place to rent a bicycle or scooter is just a block away. Wayside itself is a small guesthouse run by Jackie who is a most warm and generous host. Her included breakfast options with fresh fruit and greens were something to look forward to start each day. She was helpful in so many ways that helped me find my way and be comfortable in Chiang Mai. Wayside guesthouse is a block off a main street so it is quiet. I had a room with a balcony that was comfortable.

everything! breakfast was yummy, tucked away yet close to the night bazaar and with walking distance of the rest of old city. the staff are INCREDIBLE! helped us book a ride to wat pha lat and gave suggestions on other activities/restaurants - very hospitable and kind, much like the rest of thailand. very clean facilities, excellent value - highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We loved staying with Ma!! On arrival it was the sweetest welcome. Pa Ma gave us the most motherly welcome making sure we knew how everything works, even offering free laundry. Bed was comfy, design was unique. Breakfast/Chillout area was lovely.

Everything was just great, we even had a fridge in the room, shower with hot water too. We got great advise as to where to eat well and what to visit. I couldn't have expected more...oh and there is plenty of space to sit on different terraces outside the room which is very nice. The hosts are such nice people 😊
