Our family had a fantastic 5-night stay at Liberty View hotel during our recent trip to New York. The service was excellent, and our room was clean and comfortable, meeting all our needs. We also had a stunning direct view of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty right from our window, which made the stay even more memorable. The continental breakfasts were a nice touch to start our days. The staff were always friendly and willing to assist with anything we needed. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we would happily stay here again. 5 stars!

FAQs about hotels in Brooklyn

The Giant of New York

Immortalised in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were a city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is joined to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is also linked to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the north-east, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while south-east is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighbouring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Regeneration is underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden rollercoaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels offer a good alternative to accommodation in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

I was born and raised to her, and it was great to get back as I hadn't didn't hear in a really long time. Two of my grandchildren now live here. They were raised elsewhere and they decided to make New York and especially Brooklyn their home for now it brings me great joy!

Brooklyn can be challenging to navigate, especially if you are not familiar with NYC driving. The streets are often busy and crowded, and at times road signage can be difficult to interpret, making it hard to know exactly where to drive or turn. There was a noticeable police presence in some areas, which may help with safety, but traffic rules and lane expectations can still feel confusing for visitors. If you are not from New York City, be prepared for impatient drivers and a very fast-paced driving environment. The Belt Parkway in particular can be extremely congested, often bumper-to-bumper, with aggressive or careless driving behaviors. Unfortunately, accidents and even hit-and-run incidents do happen, so staying alert and driving defensively is very important. Plan extra travel time, use GPS carefully, and expect traffic delays. Brooklyn can be nice, prospect park great place for biking, coney island and boardwalk is nice with other sites to visit.

Felt like a typical suburban American city mixed with old and new stores. Take a Lyft at night but daytime is fine. Prospect Park and of course, the Brooklyn Bridge were fantastic. Check out Dumbo on the weekends as well. Pio Bagels is a small hole-in-the-wall shop that serves delicious bagels for locals.

The traffic is horrendous and we parked our car and used Uber for transportation while there. A plus for us was that the hotel had onsite parking. We had tickets to see Michael MacIntyre at the Kings Theater in Brooklyn and it took about 25 minutes to get there by Uber. We used the Uber drivers three times and each driver was respectful and easy to communicate with.

Major attractions of Brooklyn for me include the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, St. Ann's Warehouse theater and the adjacent Timeout Market, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Bridge of course, and Wegmans supermarket. The borough is served by many subway lines, making getting around very easy.

‏Unpopular opinion, but I love Brooklyn so much more than Manhattan. ‏There are so many cool, stylish people here, along with amazing design stores and boutique cafés that double as unique, authentic galleries. ‏The streets are beautiful, in my favorite color palette. I’m obsessed. ‏No wonder I keep coming back here again and again.

Really polite staff at quite a suitable location in Williamsburg. Not the biggest rooms but they are clean, equipped with AC, Smart-TV and fast internet. Walking distance to the metro, supermarket, bars and restaurants - which the hotel has discounted deals within the nearby area. It's also easy to reach and walk over the bridge to reach the buzzy parts of the city. Hotell also have a lounge, rental bike for free) deposit $200) and chillout areas. I' am happy with my overall experience.

This is the second time I've stayed at 42 Hotel as a solo traveller and it was just as perfect as the first time. Comfortable and clean room, great facilities and shower, perfect location to take in Brooklyn and the subway to Manhattan is maybe a 60 second walk. All of the staff I encountered were lovely and welcoming. I assume I'll be back for a third time because it's just perfectly matches what I need.

One of the best place to stay in Brooklyn Greenpoint. Nice and large bedroom with balcony, fridge and coffee. Large and well equipped bathroom. Very professional and warm welcome, easy and quick check-in and check-out process. So much better than the sister hotel Franklin Guest House, where clients are treated like dogs, when they are treated.
