Located next to Chinatown, this eco-friendly hotel is 1.9 mi from San Francisco Art Institute. It features a rooftop garden and patio, and offers free WiFi. The location of this hotel couldn't be more central for most of the ground transport connections, great shopping, dining options, sight-seeing and places within walking distance. You are close to Union Square, China Town, the cable car runs and we even walked to Fishermans' Wharf - but beware the hills! All of the staff were incredibly friendly without being intrusive, although they really seemed interested in what we were doing and happily offered useful advice and tips that only locals would know. The room was very large, it was quiet and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. We really appreciated the eco focus of the hotel and the extra steps it took to maintain those credentials. I would 100% recommend this hotel and cannot understand the negative reviews based on the 5 nights we stayed here.

Placed between San Francisco’s Chinatown and North Beach neighborhoods, SW hotel is 2 blocks from the city’s cable car system. A 24-hour reception greets guests of this hotel. Our stay was phenomenal! The staff was super kind and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable. Thank you so much!

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s North Beach Little Italy District, Hotel North Beach offers free WiFi in the public areas. Each guest room includes a cable TV. The staff have been so helpful since we first booked - we decided to extend. Lots of food options around. Historic buildings. Near several buses. The building is old and has a very cool vibe but the inside of the rooms are redone.
