Placed between San Francisco’s Chinatown and North Beach neighborhoods, SW hotel is 2 blocks from the city’s cable car system. Honestly, I booked this hotel because all other good rated hotels around downtown area were either booked all ready for our dates or were available at exorbitant prices. I booked and canceled two other hotels before finally making up my mind for SW Hotel after a lot of research. Even after booking, I had a lot of apprehensions and did not expect much during our 3 night stay as I had my prejudices of staying in Chinatown and the usual notions. Contrary to all my fears, this hotel turned out to be one of the best experiences for the price we paid. It was well within our budget, and the neighborhood was nice and clean. Plenty of restaurants and activities to explore around. Our room was a decent size. Yes, the room design and furniture seem old but they have made sure to keep that historic look and feel purposely as this hotel has a history. The bathroom design however is modern contemporary with Kohler fittings with full bath. Plenty of clean linens and room was made-up every day while we were out. I was actually quite surprised that its quite a big hotel with several floors. From the outside, it looked like just another Motel, but they have big lobby and elevators. Once you are inside the hotel, its totally a different atmosphere. They also offered complimentary Continental Breakfast which I think was good. Many people say they don't like it on paper plates and stuff, but know that many hotels in US don't even offer even this without additional charge or just offer vouchers! I have stayed in several hotels from East to West coast and can say this SW Hotel offering was a real Value for Money. Hotel is near MUNI Bus Stops and F Line Trams to reach Bart Stations. Oh yeah did I mention we had manual wall mounted Aircon control which I saw the first time in my life; it was in perfect working condition!
Located next to Chinatown, this eco-friendly hotel is 1.9 mi from San Francisco Art Institute. It features a rooftop garden and patio, and offers free WiFi. The room was a lot nicer than the pictures! It was a lot roomier and cleaner than anticipated.
Located in the heart of San Francisco’s North Beach Little Italy District, Hotel North Beach offers free WiFi in the public areas. Each guest room includes a cable TV. Location and value. This was my fourth trip to SF and staying here. You can’t beat the price, location and I like old school buildings!
