So nice to have hiking trails to waterfalls right out our door! And fresh food just steps away despite being very remote. Staff was very friendly.

The accommodation was quaint and extremely comfortable. The shower had a little heater attached so even though we were a little more remote we were able to enjoy a comfortable shower. We could hear the sounds of the rainforest at night, which I particularly enjoyed. The family who run this place were some of the kindest people and even though we don't speak Spanish, and they didn't speak English, we were able to communicate and actually enjoyed a long conversation. There were a few dogs on the premisis that were super friendly and definitely enjoyed the ample attention we paid them. The value for this place was incredible and it was my favorite accommodation my partner and I stayed in. We wish we would have stayed for more than one night.

It was a beautiful property with many trails to walk on. The birds, in particular, the hummingbirds were incredible. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Mario was a great host and took great care of us.

We loved our stay at Hortensias, the villas are so cute, the little electric fireplace was used a couple nights just to cut the dampness. Had two meals for supper and we enjoyed them, breakfast was also very good. Highly recommend.

This "Guest House" is huge. A family of 4+ could easily move in here and live comfortably. The back decks are beautiful to just sit and watch the jungle. It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

The suite was absolutely beautiful, and everything was very private and clean. The property managers were very kind and welcoming, and we really enjoyed chatting with them while checking in and before breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and the gardens behind the property are beautiful. We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon and this was by far our favorite stay.
