Spacious rooms, secure car park. Sloth snoozing in trees outside … wow factor! Enjoyable stop after drive from Alajuela. Having been to Manuel Antonio, would definitely recommend the beach here - no crowds, and no hassle. Relaxed atmosphere and excellent restaurant next door. Recommend.

The views are simply breathtaking, perched high in the jungle with the ocean in the distance, and the chance to spot local wildlife adds to the magic. The warmth and attention to detail from the staff is among the best I’ve ever experienced—genuine, personal, and truly caring. Special mention to Mr. Jorge, whose first-class service and warm presence made us feel incredibly welcome. He is, without a doubt, one of the best hosts I’ve ever encountered at any hotel in the world. And the food? Outstanding. Every dish is full of flavor and heart, far surpassing the local restaurants in town. The menu is focused and perfectly executed, with ingredients that shine. You can taste the passion in every bite. If you’re looking to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature and comfort, this is the place. Plus, it’s just a short drive down to the beach at Dominical. I can’t recommend it enough.

Everything was amazing ! :) thanks for your hospitality, we felt like family. The white water rafting was really fun and safe. The night walk was stunning with a great guide. The activites are relatively cheap and great. We highly recommend the lodge. We also saw a caoti and tucans at the lodge!

The property, all the villas at Shelter from the Storm, are spectacular. Villa Solensse in particular has incredible coastal views and rainforest vistas from its deck and both its bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and though a guest should be equipped and prepared and able to do some stairs to reach the villa, the views make it well worth the effort. Beyond the villa itself, the larger property, which includes a beautiful pool again with coastal views, a Japanese garden, a mirador where you can watch the sun rise and set, and a waterfall, is unparalleled. The gardens are filled with flowers and foliage that then appear on impossibly beautiful breakfast arrangements. The breakfasts cooked by Virginie, are superb and unforgettable. Both Virginie and Pascal are excellent hosts, we hope to return again one day.

Location is so beautiful and private! We never wanted to leave! The villa is gorgeous and very special and we loved all the animal friends (both domestic and wild). The views are absolutely magnificent and the hosts were very accommodating and kind!
