Mr. Firdous's houseboat was far enough from the street so the only sound you hear is the tranquility of Dal Lake. Every morning, you would wake up to a peaceful view of the lake, plus a well-cooked breakfast (try the egg pizza!) The rooms are wonderful, authentic, and full of patterns (a big YES for maximalist) Mr Firdous knows EVERYONE you need, so he is ready to go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. If he cannot help you with that, he will get you the rightest guy for you. As someone who had stayed 2 weeks before staying Veena Palace, I can say finding dinner is challenging in Srinagar, especially if you live on a houseboat. Worry not because his wife is a wonderful cook who performs art with skill and heart. I tried some dishes from the elaborate Kashmiri wazwan, and I cannot recommend enough the crispy rib and the fish curry. The meatball was mashed to perfection; chewy and juicy. I personally learnt so much about heart-to-heart connection, which is something considerable for solo travellers in India, thanks to Mr. Firdous. My words cannot describe enough for my wonderful stay with Mr. Firdous on his houseboat.

I booked this accommodation for my parents and aunt as they planned their tour after the attack Pahalgam, and they were a little concerned with everything. But the hotel staff and Mr. Yakub took special care of them and made them feel like family. The food prepared by the staff was really amazing, and this is a perfect spot to feel like home. Our stay at Meet Mansion Homestay was absolutely fantastic, I can only talk in superlatives about our experience.  Meer Mansion is a nearly brand new building, constructed with high quality materials, everything sparkles inside, everything works, there is not a spot that isn't perfect. The hotel is kept impeccably clean. Our room was beautifully furnished, and had a large luxurious comfortable bed with great pillows. The marble bathroom had stylish modern fixtures, a good shower, and plenty of hot water. The location was ideal for us, immediately next to the magical - and for us very exotic - chikara boat harbour, which is the reason we came to Dal Lake. But what made our stay one of the best experiences ever is the efficient, kind, and helpful support of the charming young manager, Danish, who outpertformed himself to make us feel good. That made the difference between a good stay and an extraordinary one. He helped in too many ways to list, things like allowing us to check in early at 9 am, organize great boat rides, hire autorickshaws, advise us on how to avoid buying counterfits, give great sightseeing tips, and even ferry us on his own boat to the other side of the lake when we need it - all of that for absolutely free. Our time in the Houseboat Wild Rose was a wonderful experience full of nice moments with our lovely Host-Family, great food from Kashmere and if course the beautiful nature of Dal Lake with all it's Eagles, Kingfishers (the bird ;D), Lotusplants and many more! Our Highlight was a 7 day Trekkingtour in the Himalaya with Faizan (our Host Jr.) where we saw not just some amazing mountains but also the life of the local people there. Everything was fantastic. A really authentic (100+ years old) houseboat with prime location (though you always need to take the little boat to get there). The owner and staff are super helpful and (importantly for Kashmir) not pushy in selling you additional activities but supporting your plans regardless of whether you make them with them or not. Thanks again, it was wonderful!
