The host was very kind and friendly. She has an adorable little doggo with a huge sense of protecting the house. We got the best sleep here, at our first Ryokan in Japan. The entire place offers a bigger space than a standard hotel room, equipped with all the required facilities. The breakfast was amazing, cooked by the host itself. She asked us what type of breakfast we prefer (Japanese or European) and we chose the Japanese one, of course (which we recommend you to choose as well, if you stay one night only). We are sad that we planned a single night in Nara in our itinerary so we didn't have enough time to enjoy this stay and to talk more with our host. She is a good english speaker, which is pretty rare in Japan (at least for the people that we interact with, even at the hotel's reception). Both me and my wife kindly recommend Hotobil if you are looking for a great experience at a Ryokan in Nara.

The resort is close to Nara Park and surrounded by forests. There were only four guest rooms. The rooms were neat and clean. We were lucky to see a few deers. We spent some time walking around the resort to enjoy the natural scenery. The half board dining sets were a great kiseiki type. Fishes were fresh and delicious. Staff are so friendly and can speak English well.

Ryokan Asukasou at the entrancne of Nara park is a recently renovated ryokan in Nara where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and shared lounge. A public bath is available for guests.

Amazing location for going to Nara park and other restaurants and sites in Nara. The staff are so helpful and kind and have many recommendations for restaurants or sites to visit with a map. The guesthouse is very comfortable with tatami rooms and the bathrooms are well kept and organized. Very large area downstairs to play games and hangout together with friends and there is free coffee and cold water. Excellent experience and definitely plan to come back and stay at this guesthouse!

A 10-minute drive from Kintetsu Nara Train Station on the hotel’s free shuttle, Mikasa offers open-air baths and a dining room with beautiful Nara views. On-site parking is free.

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in, the experience was amazing and the staff were incredibly attentive. If you want a Ryokan experience with a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner, plus onsen. Then do yourself a favour and treat yourself to Mikasa, it was truly the best part of our trip in Japan. I highly recommend paying the extra bit to get a room with the private onsen bath it was heavenly.
