Relaxing time surrounded by nature! Beautiful cabin, fireplace kept us warm! Kids love hiking around the lake. Plenty of blankets and pillows!

Okay - it’s quirky because it’s a Christmas village - but this is the best hotel in Tlalpujahua with regards to facilities, room decor and comfort. I have stayed in many hotels here that lack warmth and hot water. The rooms here are beautifully decorated with lovely beds, talavera style sinks, and each room even has a small Christmas tree. Cute and elegant is how I would describe the rooms, even if the village is more cute and quirky. This hotel provides instant hot water, and the bathrooms even have facecloths (which are rare in Mexico). Very clean and great water pressure. The beds are comfy, and there was a big fluffy blanket to add to the bed for extra warmth. There is a coffee machine with two styrofoam cups and water provided. (I wish they would ditch the styrofoam for paper or a real locally made mug, as that would be elegant, less damaging for the environment and would support the local artists). The coffee provided is full of sugar, but hey - if you want quality coffee, just bring your own. It’s nice they provide the machine and two small bottles of water. The room was so warm! We sat up and enjoyed some wine, and didn’t need jackets and toques to visit. (The majority of hotels in Tlalpujahua are freezing cold). The staff is friendly and want their guests to have the best stay. On my last trip here, they moved our group to different rooms because they had some issues with the water. This time, we stayed in that part of the hotel and everything had been fixed. As someone with a tour company, I will always recommend this hotel. It is more expensive, but guests will be comfortable and warm here. We used to send guests with space heaters and extra blankets to Tlalpujahua because of the cold, and this hotel means we no longer have to do that. The restaurant has beautiful breakfast, good coffee and excellent service for a reasonable price.

Excellent place to have peace and tranquility

We’ve stayed there three years in a row. The beds and comfortable, good pillows, clean rooms, excellent location and exceptionally kind staff. This year, we booked multiple rooms with friends and everyone was happy. Helpful hint- if you have mobility issues, request a bottom floor room.

The place was very clean and close enough to everything going on in town. The host was helpful in answering our questions. Check-in and out were very simple.

Breakfast was not that great, there were not many options. It would be great to have more options.
