I recently stayed at Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The hotel is modern, spacious, and immaculately maintained. My room was large, with a comfortable bed, stylish décor, and a spotless bathroom equipped with a rainfall shower. Small touches like the coffee machine, generous desk space, and quiet atmosphere made it perfect for both work and relaxation. The breakfast: unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast. Location-wise: the hotel is just outside the city center, making it easy to reach by car with free parking, yet only a short drive or bike ride into Leeuwarden’s charming old town. What stood out most was the staff: friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to make guests feel welcome. From check-in to check-out, everything felt effortless and well-organized.

The host and hostess of this charming B and B are welcoming and accommodating. You can tell that they are passionate about making their guests happy. There are lots of things that make B and B de Salix special, but some of the standouts for us were: -the breakfast was delicious. The eggs came from chickens roaming the grounds and they served homemade jams and preserves. -the access to the grounds and surrounding camp. lots of space. -the cats -spacious and clean room
