I recently had an amazing time at Solar de Lalem! The historic estate transported me back to the 18th century, and I felt like I was part of the rich history of the island while staying in the villa. The lovely new Dutch couple managers made my stay even better with their warm hospitality, from offering fresh-baked croissants in the morning to always being nearby to give me tips on the island or recommend an Azorean wine to try. The nearby hiking trails in Maia are definitely worth a visit, offering stunning views of the coast and the black sand beach, which added to the overall experience. If you are considering a stay at Solar de Lalem, I highly recommend springing for the main house rooms if they are available. While the villa was lovely, the main house offers even more history and character, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to return. Thank you, Solar de Lalem!

the rooms are stylish, the beds are amazing and so comfortable. the housekeeping staff and service are top notch with freshly made beds twice a day and daily health tips and local treats left for you. the pools are just incredible and sauna facilities are gorgeous and with a lovely smell of lemon and orange inside. the staff are very friendly and the food in the restaurant is gorgeous.

It is a great location and everything you need is just a short walk. House is so cool, clean, comfortable, beyond our expectation. Kitchen is fully loaded and lots of stuff supplied. The nicest lady is the host, not very much english though. Great location in town across from the Terra Nostra. Free parking close by. Pool in the summer looked nice.
