The Casal da Viúva was an amazing place to stay. The hosts are extremely welcoming! We arranged to have dinner there, and the two of them made us a great home-cooked meal. The breakfast spread was excellent. We got to hear stories of wine production in the Doura Valley, got a tour of their personal collection of historical wine making and farming implements, and had a very enjoyable time. Highly recommended!!

Amazing location, wonderful staff, every need anticipated and addressed. Serafim was our host who attended to us all including our grandson who had a cold so isolated in an additional room provided us at the last minute. The living room spaces afforded old-fashioned comfort (complete with afternoon Port wine and snacks) by the fireplaces that made everyone feel at home. We just wish we could have stayed longer.
