Beautiful location inside a park! Our room had a small balcony that overlooked the river. A very relaxing, comfortable and tranquil setting. Modern amenities in the room. Very friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful dining room looking out into the park.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Republica we felt welcomed despite being hot and dishevelled from a big day of hiking. This was one of the most friendly receptions we have had during our two weeks in Portugal. Nothing was too much trouble, including room service provided early from the Restaurant Menu when the All Day Menu was not available. We requested an extra night and again, no problem at all. Breakfast options at the restaurant were exceptional and the service, equally as good. The coffee machine in the room was awesome, the beds luxurious and the bathroom stylish and clean. The minibar was well stocked and an abundance of room snacks were available.

This is a fairly new hotel in an old building which has endeavoured to retain many lovely features while also modernising . Although a few winding corridors it is light and airy . Our room was spacious with high ceilings , wardrobe , desk, bedside tables and one comfy chair ( 2 would be good). A bay window , good curtains , lovely linen and good lighting and excellent A/C. A large bathroom ( for those with some mobility issues) with accessible shower , generous vanity and supplies. The room had a mini fridge and a coffee maker -but we rarely drink coffee -so we were supplied with tea pots which could be filled in the guest lounge area at any time . This was greatly appreciated. This lovely guest section on first floor had expansive lounges, bar, tea supplies, and a welcoming library -all attractively furnished. The reception staff and breakfast staff were cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated all their help and advice. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in a central location - a tight fit for cars but easy walking to all the towns cafes, parks and river. The old castle etc are a fair distance up steep hills. The town is lovely and lively .

Comfortable bed, fantastic location right in the middle of the old city. The apartment was well equipped and squeaky clean. The hostess had left out tourist information which was very helpful.

I stayed at Herdade di Luce while walking the Camino. Lea and Andrus were exceptional! The food they prepared was great and an amazing experience! This is a perfect distance from Tomar in the Camino.
