The view is spectacular over the valley. BnB is 8 minutes from the historical monastery which is in the heart of Alcobaca. Both Google Maps and the rental GPS, at times had a bit of difficulty maintaining a signal when in the hills outside of the city. The solution was to drive downhill into the city limits, and get the directions then. Alcobaca hosts its own, city wide, free WiFi service. The city boasts many restaurants and cafes for lunch, dinner, espresso and spirits. Breakfast is a fantastic spread, and host will even cook up a couple eggs is asked.

The owners have done a remarkable job designing and creating the B&B. It's secluded on a farm outside of Alcobaca but easy to find due to the excellent signs pointing the way and their directions. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen beautifully laid out and equipped, a patio overlooking the fields with a 300+ year old cork tree. The shower was heated with the mirror! The owners live on the property and made us feel right at home. We wished we had planned for a longer stay and will definitely return if we go back to Alcobaca.

My room 217 had a balcony that overlooked the monastery. It was a 5-minute walk to the monastery and to the local cafe that faced it. This is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in for the price in quite a while. Ownership clearly cares about their property. Breakfast included was a real breakfast. I have already told my family this is the place if going to Alcobaca. See
