It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Nestled in the heart of La Rochelle and set in an 18th-century building, Maison des Ambassadeurs is just a 5-minute walk from the Old Harbour and offers a 24-hour front desk as well as a concierge service. Everything was excellent. The personnel were charming and welcoming, they were always smiling. I encountered a problem in my room and they dealt with it momentarily. Pools was nice in comparison to the city and what is available. Loved my stay.

Ideally set in the historic La Rochelle, this 17th-century building overlooks the old harbour. Hôtel De La Monnaie is decorated by artworks and features a terrace and a wellness centre. The parking on site is limited and available upon request. The hotel is located close to the port and the Tour de la Lanterne, very central but also in a tranquil area. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, well equipped. The breakfast is exceptional, with a great choice of both sweet and salty food.

Hôtel & Espace Bien-être La Maison du Lierre is located in Biarritz, 300 metres from the beach and 5 minutes from the convention centres Bellevue, Casino and Gare du Midi as well as 100 metres from Biarritz central market. It offers free WiFi and Canal + channel. Beautiful old French building. Room was perfect, lovely shower and a nice spacious balcony. Air con was good too as it was quite hot outside when we stayed. Overall very comfortable.

Perfect place for a lone traveller to explore the area.

The place was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. The beds were cozy, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the atmosphere was peaceful—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful, offering great tips for local attractions and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Communication was smooth and friendly from start to finish. The location was also ideal—close to everything we wanted to see, yet quiet enough to feel like a retreat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-managed place to stay. We would definitely come back!
