Situated along the rolling hills 10 miles north of Dumfries town, Boreland Farm features a variety of farm activities and animals. Free fishing can be enjoyed on the River Cairn, which is less than 5 minutes’ walk from the property.

Loved talking with the owners, loved all the farm animals and pets, and loved the stunning view from the cottage. Such a beautiful part of Scotland.

Location is gorgeous, real working farm, great views, hosts encourage you to explore and meet the animals (sheep, horses, ducks, chickens) The hosts were lovely interesting people, knowledgeable and great to talk to. My son and I had a ball! The house itself is beautiful, comfy beds, equipped kitchen, clean large shower, dvds and dvd player etc. Definitely recommend for those seeking outdoors/farm life.

If you are after peace and quite this is the place to stay. A beautiful country side farm about 20 minute drive from Dumfries. The cottage was one of the best places I've stayed in all my years of travelling. Great for kids as lots of farm animals. Rosie the horse is so friendly. Lovely walk at the back of the cottage! Host were very nice and friendly and took the time to come and say hello. Would def recommend and will def be back if we come to dumfries again.

It was a very rural situation, great if you like sheep outside your bedroom window. Great hosts and I was given a lovely afternoon tea both days and had my own sitting room.

Fantastic hosts, lots of info given on places to go with the kids on the farm and local area. The kids loved getting up close with the animals and free to run and play in the fields they even got a wee ride on the quad to go check on the lambs and a peak at some new born ducklings. Petted the horses and ted the sheep dog was such a sweetheart. Truly peaceful and with dalscone and mabie farm parks just 30 mins away amongst plenty other things to do close by id highly recomend it and will be returning.
