Wonderful welcome gifts like freshly baked bread, farm churned butter and delicious fresh farm milk. Just fulfilled the experience for our family. Ouhout Cottage was spacious, rustic yet tastefully decorated and clean. Staff were polite and assisted in any manner or form. The Farm Stall was a delight and were privileged to watch them milk the cows up front. Well worth it, book early to avoid disappointment. Professionally run establishment which only lends to a better experience.

This recently renovated farm stay is located 32 km from Midmar Dam and 36 km from Howick Museum. This 4-star farm stay offers private entrance. We had an absolutely amazing stay at Cooperleigh. It was exactly what we needed for a family weekend catch up. We live abroad and came back to South Africa for some travels and to meet up with family and wanted to do an early family Christmas dinner and Ashleigh even arranged for a Christmas tree and lights for us which was so lovely and unexpected. The house was very clean with all the cooking and cleaning utensils you could need. Anything else we needed Ashleigh was just a message away and happy to help. He kept us informed about the loadshedding schedule and helped with back up power if we needed it. The views are lovely and the walks in the area are beautiful. Inhlazane mountain is nearby as well and was a fantastic little hike. The midlands meander is not far and it's easy to explore the cute cafes and galleries in the area. I would highly recommend this property.

The farm stay provides garden views and an outdoor fireplace. We had a wonderful stay at Mziki Cottage on Penwarn Farm. The cottage sleeps seven (2 rooms with double beds, and a loft with 3 beds). It is perched it a lovely little valley and overlooks a dam that teems with birdlife. The view is great, with the majestic Drakensberg mountains in the distance. Inside, the cottage is beautifully appointed and has everything you could possibly need. Each bedroom and bathroom has its own heater, and the lounge is just as cosy, with a fireplace that warms the entire living area. One of the bathrooms even has a jet bath - perfect for a long soak after a day outdoors. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The cottage is serviced daily, which made it feel like a real break. We especially loved the verandah, where we spent hours just soaking in the view with a coffee or glass of wine in hand. There's a great braai area and even a ready-to-go bonfire -stacked with wood and just waiting to be lit. Honestly, every detail has been thought of. We didn’t want to leave!
