Our hotel is perfectly situated with views of Lake Windermere, just a short stroll from the bustling village centre of Bowness-on-Windermere and the boats that travel the length of Windermere, making it easy to visit Ambleside, Brockhole, Wray Castle and Lakeside without a car. everything was good the staff and the room

Set in 21 acres of country gardens, moors and woodland, Gilpin Hotel has a Michelin starred restaurant, a casual pan Asian restaurant, a Champagne Bar, lounge and terraces, a relaxing Spa Space as well as resident llamas, alpacas, and micro pigs. I especially enjoyed peace and quietness around the property. Nature around is amazing. Facilities are fantastic especially in spa suites.

With stunning and exclusive panoramic views of Lake Windermere, this beautiful country house is set right on the lake’s shore. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea on the stone terrace overlooking Windermere. This was by far our favourite stay during our winter break. Sadly it was for one night only but it was most definitely 'the full monty'! Great location and stunning views of the lake from most of the tastfully furnished public rooms. The staff are superb, perfect mix of professionalism matched with a warm, genuine personal service. Welcome glass of bubbles and a brief tour of the reception hall and lounge areas was a lovely touch before being shown to our room. There were real fires in most of the lounges which added a lovely, homely feeling. Our Room had everything you could wish for with quality fittings, great amenities and a super comfy bed. Dinner in the main restaurant was enjoyable with friendly, efficient staff. Steak had to be re cooked as came out very undercooked but this was rectified without any issue and service recovery was excellent. Dessert was on the house! Breakfast next morning was also very good although they did run out of some danish pastries and we were not the last guests to be seated.

Linthwaite House offers luxurious accommodation, with stylish, individually designed bedrooms and bathrooms. Many overlook the lake and manicured gardens as well as the surrounding hills and mountains. The Linthwaite House Hotel experience is a must have at least once in a life time. The hotel’s location is superb, the cleanliness level is beyond words, the staff are SUPER HELPFUL and friendly. Jasmine was the cherry on top, the solution oriented and who would never fail to put a smile on your face. Marco saved us by sending hotel’s car to pick us when we got trapped in heavy rain in windermere and were not finding any taxi. Linthwaite, I really hope I can visit again and meet same staff and enjoy paradise on earth.

An award-winning, luxury bed and breakfast, Lindeth Fell Country House is set in an elegant Edwardian house with high ceilings and period features. It offers spacious, individually decorated rooms with Egyptian cotton sheets, an airy en suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities. Many offer lake views. It was simply wonderful and we would come back anytime.

The bar and lounge area have been upgraded and decorated with a contemporary style, and the gardens were re-landscaped to include a Victorian style gazebo. The Roundthorn has been awarded a 5-star VisitEngland Guest Accommodation rating, and a Gold Award. Well appointed and clean room. Lovely ambiance and good food for dinner and breakfast. Freindly and considerate staff. Beautiful building and grounds.
