Beautiful old-school hotel originally built in the 30s, loved the classic design and common spaces! Convenient to a nearby subway station, use exit 10 if you will be carrying luggage as it’s the only one with an elevator. Fantastic in-house bakery where I was able to get Christmas cake, and loved the change of an Italian breakfast buffet!

There is a train station next to the property, a Lawson convenience store one block away, and several trendy clothing stores around the corner. You can easily walk north to the buzzy Nishiki area and Oasis 21/museums, and southwest to the Osu Shotengai Shopping Street. One evening I made a reservation for the hotel’s warm pool, steam room, onsen, and sauna. It was extremely relaxing and the facilities were fantastic. They even have swim suits to borrow for free. The hotel room itself was very impressive, including a nice view of the city with floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom is spacious and featured heated floors. I will stay at this hotel again.
