If you are coming to Udawalawe for a safari then this is the place to stay. Located very close to the National Park entrance this camp had us feeling like we were one with nature. Our room tent/cabin was ready on arrival. It is not a hotel so you should know going in that this is a camping adventure. Beds were comfy and cam with very good mosquito nets. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was fine. There is no A/C but you do get a floor fan and the room also has plenty of outlets for charging. You get your own private deck in front of your tent with chairs and a beautiful view of the river. I would suggest allowing them to prepare all of your meals. They were all delicious and came at a fair price considering there is nowhere else to eat within a mile or two. The camp prepares and takes car of everything for you, meals, free river tour, and free night walk after dinner. They also will book your safari for you. Once you arrive, you do nothing. It was absolutely amazing.

Beautiful and clean property. Felt like home. He organized the safari, the driver was a great guide. Lots of animals to see and lots of elephants. The owner is very kind. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended for a few days getaway

Your totally absorbed by the nature! You can totally relax with the sounds of nature all around you. The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

We stayed for one night at Kottawatta River Bank Resort. Rooms are unique as they are tent-shaped with a cozy terrace. The outdoor bathroom is quite an experience but in a good way. Nice pool area, perfect to relax. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. For a reasonable price you can sit in an nice atmosphere and get tasty Sri Lankan food. Breakfast buffet in the morning was also good. Staff at the restaurant was very friendly. Supermarkets, liquor stores and local restaurants within a ten minutes walking-distance. In the early morning we did the 3,5hour safari arranged by the hotel which is plenty of time to spot some animals. Card payment in the hotel as well as at the parc possible.

Steps from Udawalawe National Park, Kottawatta Village offers a peaceful and scenic getaway from the city and night camping. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the pool area was nice. They arranged the safari to Udawalawe National Park. The driver took us around the park.

Everything is rteally nice, the rock pools are amazing and the junglke is all around you. The cabins are very new and comfortable. I thought the loud music was a bit irritating, but maybe that was just an exeption!
