Staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. Room is spacious with some flies which didn't bother at all. Big area which is lightened and you can have a romantic walk. You have a very close connection to nature here. You can it on the spot - good restaurant with pretty big menu, tasty food and veeeery reasonable prices! Perfect stay, we'll definitely come back! International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. In particular, our guide Solomons made the safaris and nature walk so much fun and he was so knowledgeable. We appreciated the upgraded tent!

- Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and wine during dinner This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.
