Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. Nice room. Great communal kitchen. Beautiful spot.

Staffs were very kind and the common area was very clean. The place was quite and the lake was just across the road. Wonderful view of the sunset!

We stayed three nights and had time to enjoy both Te Anau and Milford Sounds. We were a bit hesitant of the dimensions at first but at the end we ate at home and the kitchen had everything we needed, and having dinner outside in the garden was very peaceful. Overall would recommend!
