Offering a garden and quiet street view, Himawari is situated in Minami Aso, 36 km from Suizenji Park and 39 km from Kumamoto Castle. The host was extremely welcoming and caring, drove us to the local supermarket, the bicycle rental and to the train station - what well (over)compensates for the location that is a bit off. Communication works quite well with the available apps.

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent. The location, the room (we stayed in the suite), the food, but most of all the excellent staff. The staff make you feel welcome, the service is warm and personal, yet professional at the same time. They know who you are from the moment you arrive. One of the best performances we experienced and we travel a lot. My wife has a rare allergy and they provided special meals for here. Exceptional. The hotel is also very clean and is recently renovated. The onsen in the room and the public one are comfortabel / beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Beppu, Oita, Takachiho gorge et cetera. Can’t recommend this place enough!

金春 -in KONPAL Penthouse-, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Kikuyo, 5 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 13 km from Suizenji Park, as well as 14 km from Kumamoto Castle. Very spacious penthouse apartment that has access to rooftop terrace with street and Mt Aso view. We enjoyed going up the rooftop terrace to just chill, read a book, have a drink and enjoy the Kumamoto weather. Deck chairs, chairs and table provided too. Heating, ventilation and lighting is sufficient for comfort in all seasons. The place is tastefully decorated and super well equipped kitchen like a good quality home. The bar counter with bar stools and large dining table are great for hosting a get together. There are board games, big TV, a set of golf clubs and putting mat for use. Many cans of beer were provided in the fridge for our consumption. Bathroom is big and the bathtub fitted 2 persons very comfortably. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Host was helpful and precise with instructions that made check-in very smooth. Definitely a Value-for-money place which we will return to!

Rental villa Gontaya, a property with a terrace, is situated in Takamori, 50 km from Kumamoto Castle, 25 km from Mount Aso, as well as 39 km from KK Wings. Gontaya was such a lovely stay. The cabin is cozy, well-equipped, and thoughtfully set in a scenic, peaceful area — the kind of place you genuinely don’t mind staying in and slowing down. Everything was comfortable and well maintained, making it easy to settle in and relax. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. A fun bonus was getting to meet Gonta, the villa’s celebrity dog — absolutely charming and a great touch to the experience. It’s a quiet neighbourhood, so having a car is recommended, as public transport access may be limited. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing getaway that we truly enjoyed.

Boasting garden views, AsoSweet provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 22 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto. If you have a car, location is excellent with a separate Onsen only steps away, where they offer public and private rooms. It's also convenient to get to the trails of Mt Aso and other local sightseeing. The home itself if wonderful with 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 western, 1 tatami mats), and a full bath on main level with kitchen, dining, living, and many electronics available to use. They are even very generous with some supplies in the refrigerator (which we greatfully used as we forgot to buy Mayo at the store) and access to some shochu (which we conservatively sampled a few of the open bottles). The views are wonderful and we were there in the autumn and you could see the colors of the valley. We would HIGHLY recommend. We did exploring and hiking during the day and returned home to Onsen and then end the day with board games. It was perfect!

Situated in Hitoyoshi, within 400 metres of Aoi Aso Shrine and 41 km of Ebino Plateau, Hitoyoshi Morinohall Ladies in - Female Only features accommodation with free bikes and free WiFi throughout the... Loved the free access to a nearby onsen. The owners were very friendly and kind. It was a bit cold in Hitoyoshi, but they provided a few amazing warm blankets, heated carpet, and a heater. They also had an air purifier in the room. All the amenities were great! My father lives in Hitoyoshi, so I'll be using them again in the future!
