The hosts were responsive and very kind.

Set in Hinase and only 26 km from Bizen Fukuoka Folk Museum, Villa SHINOBI -忍- offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property is beautiful with amazing views throughout. The garden is like a dream and house is very comfortable and easy to settle in to.

Located in Okayama, 18 km from Kyobashi no Kyokyakuato and 19 km from Hashihime Inari Daimyojin Shrine, Ensoh provides accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, free bikes and a garden. This has been the best place I stayed during my trip in Japan! The house is absolutely lovely and beautifully maintained, it makes you feel you want to spend time there, chilling, rather than going outside. Also, the owners have been amazing all the way through, offering pick up and drop off from train station and electric bike as well. I couldn’t recommend this place more..

Located in Tamano and only 18 km from Kyobashi no Kyokyakuato, Hanatsu provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. It was a Japanese style home with modern amenities. The beds were all very comfortable. The host even picked us and dropped us to the train station free of charge.

Boasting a hot tub, さいの郷「椛」 is set in Kagamino. The air-conditioned accommodation is 25 km from Hachiman Shrine, and guests can benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. The space, barbecue and decoration were superb!

Located in the northern area of Okayama, Yunogo Onsen HOTEL YUNOMORI BISYUNKAKU features 8 public indoor and outdoor baths, a game room, and a store. 2 hours to JR Okayama Station by car or train. I found this hotel as a halfway point between two cities I was visiting by pure chance. And I’m very happy I did. The room was beautiful, with its own open air bath overlooking the trees. The hotel itself is surrounded by beautiful gardens, on a hilltop overlooking a valley. The dinner was an experience in itself, and the breakfast buffet was of ectremely high quality as well. I was the only non-Japanese but staff were incredibly accommodating, patient and helpful. A highlight of my trip.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, なかつい陣屋 is located in Fujita, 20 km from Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake and 21 km from Raikyuji Temple. Sakamoto-san was very nice. I arrived by bus and he offered to drive me to the supermarket and various other places. Every evening I could enjoy a traditional japanese bath. The surrounding area is beautiful.

A great little farm stay hostel. Facilities are modest (bunk bed shared accommodation) and well maintained. Owner and host Sakisan is lovely and we had a fun evening with her and other fellow travellers and hearing some traditional music being played. Some caring and thoughtful touches to the facilities. We had a good overnight sleep and rest before continuing our journey, and enjoyed waking up to the lovely Mimasaka country-side. Great value and a memorable experience. Thank you Saki-san!
