If you decide to stay here you’ll get a traditional Japanese house for yourselves. We were just a couple but it can easily contain a family of 5. There is a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a toilet. The owner was very generous and picked us up from the train station upon our arrival and dropped us off there on our way out. We used the e-bikes that are offered by the owner for free to get around and we also took them with us to Naoshima which was a great help for getting around there. Overall we had a great stay and would gladly come back.

It was a Japanese style home with modern amenities. The beds were all very comfortable. The host even picked us and dropped us to the train station free of charge.

Located in the northern area of Okayama, Yunogo Onsen HOTEL YUNOMORI BISYUNKAKU features 8 public indoor and outdoor baths, a game room, and a store. 2 hours to JR Okayama Station by car or train. The hotel was beautiful and the room we had seemed newly renovated (Semi Suite Double room) and was very comfortable. The onsen was very clean and spacious, and the yukatas were colourful and lovely. We upgraded our meals to the Nagi beef option and it did not disappoint although a little pricey. The breakfast buffet was good with wide selection. Parking was free and the place was not difficult to find. Check in/out was smooth and the Manager at the dining hall was very helpful and friendly explaining various activities we could do in the area. There is a table tennis table and a small diner in the hotel which was convenient. We will certainly return.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, なかつい陣屋 is located in Fujita, 20 km from Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake and 21 km from Raikyuji Temple. Sakamoto-san was very nice. I arrived by bus and he offered to drive me to the supermarket and various other places. Every evening I could enjoy a traditional japanese bath. The surrounding area is beautiful.

Set in Mimasaka, within 21 km of Ancient Farmer's Pit-House and 21 km of Former Residence of Mitsukuri Genpo, ホテル作州武蔵 offers accommodation with a restaurant and as well as free private parking for... A great little farm stay hostel. Facilities are modest (bunk bed shared accommodation) and well maintained. Owner and host Sakisan is lovely and we had a fun evening with her and other fellow travellers and hearing some traditional music being played. Some caring and thoughtful touches to the facilities. We had a good overnight sleep and rest before continuing our journey, and enjoyed waking up to the lovely Mimasaka country-side. Great value and a memorable experience. Thank you Saki-san!

Situated in Maniwa, 22 km from Shoka Museum Ikegamitei and 23 km from Bukeyashiki Kyu Oriike Kyu Haibarake, 北房まちの駅 ゲストハウス offers a garden and air conditioning. The owner was so lovely and helpful. pointed out local places to see etc. the place itself is very traditional and you feel like you are really in Japan here. we had the place to ourselves, so it was really quiet,but our room was open to the stairs above the walls to the shared kitchen below, but eveyone goes to bed early anyway.
