The location was great, In the middle of the black forest, the rooms were very big, clean and with everything needed, the place offers great breakfast and exceptional diner, also some good Italian restorant neer by and supermarket but the thing that made it exceptional was the service, the place is managed by Emanuel that was always there for us with a smile for everything needed, and some time offering it before we even ask! Amazing stay and very well recommended!!!

This Hütte was way beyond what we expected. I'll start with the staff. We were running late for check-in and the rest of our party was running even later. Our hostess, Branka was so fantastic! She waited for us to arrive to welcome us and even waited way later than was necessary just to welcome the rest of our party. The next morning she and her husband had a wonderful breakfast ready for us and the other guests (by the way, the eggs were the best we have had anywhere). Branka was so hospitable and made sure every detail was covered. After a day of fun on the mountain coaster (Todtnau) and exploring the area we returned for dinner. We were able to meet more of the wonderful staff. Jerko was our host for dinner and was also fantastic. He was super personable and spent time answering all of our questions, including the history of the Hütte. The facilities themselves were of a good age (well over 100 years old) but have been kept in great condition. They were super clean and very well cared for. The location was quite breathtaking. The Hütte sits nearly at the top of the mountain and has views for days. It is a bit remote but that is what made it so amazing. There are so many places to hike and explore right out of the front door. This is now one of our new most favorite places in the world. We can't wait to return for our next adventure. Thank you Branka, Jerko and the rest of the wonderful folks who make the Berggasthof zur Todtnauer Hütte a little slice of heaven!

It’s a amazing place, you will enjoy every moment of it, if you can speak German you can communicate better with the host. Location is very good, 5 minutes away from Lidl store and restaurants. My friend and I loved it.

Beautiful property set in a great place. Nice, clean and comfortable rooms. We had 10 different rooms and none of them looks the same. Room 14 were the best. Even you pay little extra ask for it.

I normally don’t write reviews, and I normally don’t care much about hotels as a solo traveler. But Hotel Sonne Garbo has made my trip in Hinterzarten so happy, that I wanted to stay in the hotel more, and feel sad leaving it. The owner has a great laugh and smile, she was very friendly. The breakfast was very delicious and cute, the owner gave me a table next to the window and I can have good view of garden. The room was very cute and has lots of details that makes your stay comfortable. I wish I could come back again some day!
