As a seasoned Camino walker, I've stayed in my fair share of hostals and guesthouses. But Casa Rico de Medín stands out as a true gem. This beautifully refurbished farmhouse is a haven for weary pilgrims (and design enthusiasts!). The moment you arrive, you're struck by the stunning architecture. The conversion from a traditional farm has been done with a keen eye, blending the original stonework with modern amenities. The minimalist style throughout the lodge creates a sense of calm, and the exposed stone walls add a touch of rustic charm. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. Everything is homemade and uses fresh, local ingredients. Breakfast, which was included, was a delightful start to the day: fluffy scrambled eggs, seasonal fruit, and the creamiest yogurt I've ever tasted. Lunch and dinner are also available, and while the menu is simple, the dishes are beautifully prepared. We were even fortunate enough to be gifted some Xenos (a local Galician turnip greens) on our pilgrimage, and Lucia, the wonderful host, kindly prepared it for us. It was a delicious and thoughtful gesture. But what truly sets Casa Rico de Medín apart is the exceptional hospitality. Lucia and her team go above and beyond to make you feel at home. They offer helpful advice for navigating the Camino, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and truly embody the spirit of Camino camaraderie. Newly renovated and great look and feel

Everything was great! We enjoy so much staying in this house with such an interesting interior inside. Great place to stay on the way and rest. Recommend !)

Highly recommend. Perfect stay after a long day on the Camino. The driver came promptly to the designated pick up point as advertised. Beautifully restored historic building set next to a lovely rive. Delicious dinner and breakfast worth the extra cost. I have celiacs and they easily made sure my food was totally gluten free. In the morning we were taken back to our stopping point on the Camino. I have to add that the staff are the greatest and work very hard to make your stay perfect.

Pension is right on the Camino. We had a private twin room that was clean and comfortable. There is a large communal kitchen. There is a washer and dryer, but i couldn’t find any where to hang my laundry. The back yard was huge with loungers and tables. There are a few restaurants and a grocery store near by, just be aware that if you are here on a Sunday, there is only 1 restaurant available and grocery store is closed.

We loved the hospitality of our hostess and the beauty of the property. Being new, everything was immaculate, with attention to detail. The kitchen and sitting area were spectacular.

Reading previous review, I was a little worried. But this place was clean, the staff were helpful, outbreak of bugs will occur when travelling the Camino, but these guys obviously tackled it and we had no issue. We had a twin in the attic area, and a family room on the ground. No sign of any visitors, everything was immaculate. Pool was perfect at the end of a hot day too!

The staff was friendly and there was no curfew instead there were keys. Each bed had been made with sheets and we had blanket and towel given to us. It is a short walk to the popular restaurants but far enough away that the noise from the pilgrim parties is not very loud.
