We were treated with great friendliness and kindness by the staff upon check-in. It had a very homey and casual feel, like a B&B, and felt like a safe and comfortable place to spend the night. The room had everything we wanted and was probably the most comfortable of the 5 hotel rooms of our Italy trip.

Location. Value. Friendly owner. Only half a block away from the famous church in town. The tour buses had to park further away from the church than this apartment’s location. Lucia even picked me up from the train station because I arrived late in the day. It was not a long walk but might be hard to navigate after dark. The room is quite cozy and I enjoyed my time sitting in the little balcony in a sleepy little Italian town.

There is no shortage of amenities such as cutlery and cooking utensils. It is close to the heart of the city with restaurants only a few minutes walk away. The bus to and from Assisi stops within 100 metres from the apartment. Francesco and Stefania are the most welcoming hosts offering suggestions for things to do and see, and the homemade biscuits and Easter cake were much appreciated. Breakfast fixings, toiletries, even a stocked refrigerator (at extra cost) for an aperitivo!The location is great for moving around Sta Maria degli Angeli on foot. Parking is near the house. The area is very quiet so it is perfect for a good night's sleep. It was easy to communicate with the owner.
