The location is so beautiful. It overlooks the river and is really quiet. The rooms themselves were comfortable and clean. Everything looked new and the owner was extremely helpful.

Staying at Sola Guesthouse during our 3 day Kumano Kodo hike was truly unforgettable, and that is entirely thanks to Mandy. She is the heart and soul of this place, and her kindness, warmth, and generosity made our experience incredibly special. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home. Dinner was absolutely delicious, and she even rushed to serve it a bit earlier so we could make it to the onsen before closing. She personally drove us there and picked us up, which meant so much after a long day on the trail. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and we slept incredibly well, exactly what you need before another day of hiking. But the real highlight for me was Mandy’s chiropractic and acupuncture session. I arrived with terrible pain in my right calf and was honestly worried I would not be able to continue the hike. After one session with her, the relief was immediate, and by the next day the pain was completely gone. Thanks to her, I could keep going. Mandy went above and beyond every step of the way. She explained our hiking route for the next day in detail, walked us to the bus stop in the morning, and even gifted us a Kumano Kodo walking stick, something we will treasure forever. We will never forget Mandy, her hospitality, and the way she cared for us. Sola Guesthouse is wonderful, but Mandy makes it exceptional. Highly, highly recommend staying here.

Can't say enough good things about this place: The location was great. The host is super nice. He speaks Japanese, Chinese and English very well! I really enjoyed the Japanese pizza dinner and the bento lunch box he prepared for us. The Japanese style room we booked is super comfortable with amazing mountain views. I will definitely come back next time.

The lady owner is very helpful & caring, eventhough she didnt speak english but she understand what i need and very thoughful.. And english song play from TV most of the time which is very good... Nice dinner, and nice breakfast which was not included in the room price actually, i dont know why she is so super duper kind..
