I had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Suntoru! The property is conveniently located right next to a bus stop that provides easy access to both the city and the airport (I recommend getting the 5-day, 2,000 JPY bus pass if you're not renting a car). The pension gives direct access to the mangrove for some relaxing kayaking, as well as the bay and waterfront for a nice sunset walk. It is close enough to the main city for scuba dive shops to pick you up directly (check with them first). Also, the owner and the manager are incredibly friendly and will always happily share local tips and insights. All in all, wonderful value and I would stay at Suntoru again.

The view, the hospitality, the generosity of the hosts, the convenience, everything about my stay at Maetakaya was exceptional. I highly recommend this beautiful place. The family who runs the guesthouse also had a Dive Shop that is one of the best in town. They made me feel at home and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. Will absolutely be coming back.

The hospitality and friendliness of the host! He even picked me up from the airport (as it fit his schedule) and told me interesting facts about Ishigaki. His little family treated me well from the start and I felt very welcome. The Guesthouse itself was really cute and had everything you need for a couple of days, I enjoyed my stay here a lot. にいふぁいゆ!

Tomomi & Sanggyun are so kind and helpful as hosts. We had the chance to visit the most beautiful Ishigaki places with them (including fireflies by night in the wild forest, such an experience) as well as eating food specialties. The place is so lovely and quiet with an amazing view of the sea. The location is perfect to visit Ishigaki Island. So bad that we can't give more than 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Friendly, hostel-type vibes but quiet, clean and spacious - at least in my private 2-double-bed room. You can hear the crickets at night which is quite soothing. A great beach guesthouse! Gon, the owner, greeted me personally, helped me to park my car and sat down with me to show me a map of the local area and give recommendations. He even made some suggestions for what to do on Iriomote Island when I went there after Ishigaki. Laundry facilities with drying space on site. A few restaurants and bars nearby - walkable.
