We loved staying at this guest house! It was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and gave us a thorough tour upon our arrival. There were signs posted around the house - in Japanese and English - giving explanations and expectations. That was helpful! We loved the neighborhood. The first day, we took a bus to get there, and it was convenient to do so. Otherwise, we walked. It was a short walk to the castle - a little longer to the station, but not bad. The staff gave us two restaurant recommendations - for breakfast and dinner - and we were very happy with both. Next time we visit Matsumoto, I would like to stay here again - hopefully for more than one night, so we can take advantage of the nice kitchen!

Staying at this place made my life at that moment felt so surreal. This place and its surrounding is beyond beautiful! Its secluded location, near the forest, and there were even deers, the nicely designed room with traditional ambience yet and breathtaking view, everything was so perfect! Nishida-san delivered exceptional service. He prepared breakfast every morning, picked me up and dropped me off at the Bessho train station whenever I need without additional charge. I'll be back for sure! This place is idyllic and a perfect place to experience some solitude.

Extremely friendly staff and social home vibes. Visitors of their lives and the homes art past breezed through the communal areas to just hang out Excellent local area recommendations and laid back style. Great value. Lots of little charm and unique items everywhere that makes the place feel homely. And they rearrange people in the rooms to try and give the most space to everyone, one night I even had a room to myself. It's location is also great, reasonable walk of the station but even closer to the major day and night attractions of Matsumoto. Great food, walks and sights nearby. I booked mid June and had my first ever sighting of fireflies, just walked up the river 50m next to the accommodation.
