The hosts Naomi and Chris were wonderful. They have 2 cute cats and a dog, and some fish as well. They made us breakfast with locally sourced ingredients, and really made us feel like we were welcome in their home. The guesthouse itself is a beautiful old renovated japanese house with all the amenities you could need, and it's nestled in the hills of a lovely quiet town in the mountains. We would definitely stay again if we ever are in the area, and cannot recommend the guesthouse enough! :)

Nice a quite guest house at the very end of the the road. We stayed in a family room meant for 5. Even though we were a party of 3, it would have been roomy even for 5. The hosts were warm and very nice. They were also incredibly patient. They assisted with travel from the guesthouse on checkout, brining us to the nearest bus stop. The western style dinner we order was fantastic, so was the breakfast. 10/10 Would visit again.

Very clean accomodations. Had all the basics you might need. Hosts were very very kinda. 10/10 recommend, one of my favourite stays in Japan.

The guesthouse is good located, nearby there are different kind restaurants. The room is like showed in the picture. The beds are comfortable and enough warm, and there was no need to use the electric blanket and sparkling clean. There is all the kitchen equipment to cook, or eat there. There is a living room where you can sit and talk to other travelers. The badroom and shower room are separated, this makes everything easier when people come together manly in the morning and evening. The young owner is quite helpful and very welcoming. He gave us a yummy bread which was very yummy. Thanks for that.We visited the paces that he suggested, which were amazing. We definitely suggest this place to stay.

If you have read any negative reviews, please read this first. This is a unique experience, it feels sort of like staying in a cabin/camping/at your grandmas house. The owner is quite old and very lovely. I am not sure how it is maintained or who by, but it is not the cleanest location in the world which is completely fine if you are used to camping or older homes. I would imagine there are more insects in the summer, but in early spring they were minimal. It is dusty but charming and comfortable enough. Do not stay here if you are not okay with some dead bugs/dust/creaking noises that older homes make. For 1 night and for what I was doing (stopping over on the Nakasendo hike), it was perfect and memorable.
