You can really feel the love in the home, a warm environment created by Satomi (owner). Communicating was never a problem because of her ability to express herself (and also google translate). She was very helpful and caring, and Tomarigi felt like a 2nd home with Satomi as the mother and the guests as her children.

Lovely stay here! Our hosts were so friendly, kind, and helpful. The home is beautiful, both inside and outside. It was very peaceful and comfortable. We rented a car so it wasn’t difficult to drive down to the south side of the island, which we loved. Would highly recommend and stay here again!

Everything! Mr. Taketo and Mrs. Tomoko were incredible hosts! One thing you will remember forever is the FOOD!!! Tomoko san cooks everything and it is a true masterpiece! The lady that greeted us was very kind and help us understand everything we need for our stay. It was walking distance from the port, which helped us to save some time and money arriving there. the room was spacious and cozy.

The wonderful people whom in our unforgettable trip are the owner and all the stuffs of Minshuku Yakushima. We are very thankful to them. The property is on a hill from ocean and very clean and thoughtfully organized, and the meals are deliciously cooked local food. We even could ask the advice of hiking schedule and recommendations of local places by buses, means they know the activities very well and reliable. The location is wonderful; wonderful Izakaya, local markets, even the town center is walking distance, also we can go major hiking places by bus from front of the Minshuku. (In addition, we can ask for packing lunch for hiking.) Lastly, there’s some stuffs fluent in English. You shouldn’t have problems.
