This gem of a guest house is in a beautifully restored home and former grocery store built in 1920. Francisco retained all of the original details while creating five cozy, comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated little apartments. We stayed in the Old Kitchen, and slept well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was fantastic, with homemade bread and all kinds of goodies, including great coffee. We were able to easily walk to a great restaurant for dinner (plenty of street lights), and there are several others nearby. In summer, dinners are sometimes available at the house. There is a large garden with a pool, and a separate library building available to guests. The dogs and cat, as well as Francisco and his assistant Dee were all very welcoming. The house in is a peaceful, semi-rural area, with everything you need close at hand. The Lagoon of Alveira is just a new blocks away. Although we stayed only one night, this would be a great place to relax for a weekend or a much longer period. What a fantastic find and definately a highlight of our trip to Portugal. The location is in a beautiful peaceful area away from the crowds but with attractions within easy reach. We enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces and used the washing machine and kitchen to feel at home while traveling. Wonderful host!

It’s very eclectic, love the garden area, unfortunately it was very rainy when we visited but we found it a great location to do road trips there the other areas. And land is flat which is what we needed for my husband

Everything was perfect. The Comfortably Mattress gives you nice sleep after long day. Cleaning was outstanding. Staff was very helpful and kind nature. Wifi working 5G.
